Vic Chesnutt: McCain-Palin: priceless

Tonight at Sam's Club in Athens, GA my curmudgeonly friend Paul Nelson overheard a "fat lady" talking on her cellphone say, "It's the smartest thing he ever did," and "he's not that old."

That's kind of how I feel, too (the first thing). A truly remarkable specimen, she is layer upon layer of Republican Ideal personified like a right wing Wonder Woman or something.

The red states love to get fired up and they love to rah! rah! rah! for the red team and she is going to give them all a major league hard on. We belittle her at our peril!

Well, o.k. that is my initial feeling at the end of day 1.
