McCain Speaks To The NRA - Whose Role In The GOP He Once Condemned

It is not that often that you go and speak to an organization that once sued you (over McCain-Feingold). It an additional surprise, when you once had this to say about that very organization:

The NRA is entitled to their advocacy. I don’t think they help the Republican Party at all, but I don’t think they should in any way play a major role in the Republican Party’s policy making. [CNN, 5/12/00]

Today, McCain is speaking at the NRA's annual meeting in Louisville, KY. I wonder if he will tell them he doesn't think they should play a role in GOP policymaking?

FYI - I'll have more today on McCain's change of heart on the NRA and gun-control policy.
