Hell to Pay: Seals v. Kirk Main Event

There's hell to pay tonight, my friends. And this week it's personal.

Yes, our Orange to Blue candidate Dan Seals, who's facing down incumbent Mark Kirk for a re-match in IL-10, is worthy in his own right of support, but this past week the Kirk campaign lost its mind and slurred us--US! Daily Kos!--in its attempts to smear Seals.

The Mighty Mark Kirk freak-out of 2008 began when Daily Kos posted last Sunday the most recent Research 2000 poll of the district, which showed Kirk with a shrinking lead--44 to 38--over Seals. That's still a six-point lead, obviously, but it apparently was chilling enough to set off the alarm bells of crazy in the Kirk camp. Within a day, Kirk's pollster had attacked the results on ludicrous grounds:

Excluding Kirk-Leaning Jewish Voters:  It is no surprise that DailyKos, which has come under attack by Democrats like Harold Ford Jr. and Lanny Davis for anti-Israel and anti-Semitic content, chose to conduct its poll on the Jewish High Holy Day of Rosh HaShanah.

And as kos noted, "Thanks to their outsized freakout, they've created the sort of conflict that will ensure a higher profile for the results."

Of course, when Roll Call came out the following day with its SUSA results showing Seals actually ahead of Kirk, the ludicrous met the surreal when the incumbent's campaign then used the Daily Kos poll to discredit the SUSA poll.

But we're all anti-Semites, you know. Yeah, Daily Kos. The site with a rabbi as one of its Orange to Blue beneficiaries.

Word to the Kirk campaign: This will not stand, ya know, this aggression will not stand, man.

Let them hear from us tonight in a very big way. Seal has 2,424 donors ... let's see if we can get him to 2,600 very promptly. Ready? Set?

DONATE!
